Ipod Touch vs HTC Wildfire S?

My phone broke recently and I have been considering swapping my Ipod touch 32gb for a HTC Wildfire S. I need a phone at the moment and doing this I won’t have to spend any money.
Would this be a wise decision?
What other alternatives are there?
Around a £200 budget.
